Second indoor tennis court added to existing public facility in Poey-de-Lescar
Poey-de-Lescar added a second modular tennis court to an existing facility after 8 years of use — without altering the original structure or layout.
Growing with the community — without rebuilding from scratch
In the municipality of Poey-de-Lescar, the first covered tennis court was built to provide year-round access to sport. Eight years later, rising demand led to a clear need for expansion.
Rather than investing in a brand-new site, the municipality opted to add a second modular hall directly next to the existing one. This choice allowed for a fast, flexible and cost-efficient extension — without interrupting use of the current facility, and without repeating earlier groundwork.

What this meant for the municipality
Designed for public use in demanding environments
This project shows how municipalities can deliver modern sports facilities, even in technically challenging locations.
The use of corrosion-resistant materials and modular building methods ensured a safe, regulation-compliant facility that could be realised quickly and responsibly.
With minimal maintenance required and a long technical lifespan, the structure also supports sustainable public investment — aligned with long-term spatial planning.
A facility that continues to serve the community
The now-extended sports hall welcomes more players, more schools and more local associations — all year round.
It supports physical activity, encourages youth engagement, and contributes to a healthier public space in a fast-growing town.
