SailGP Sassnitz Adrenaline Lounge wins Gold Emporia Award for premium hospitality built on a breakwater
Losberger De Boer has won a Gold Emporia Award for the design and build of the premium hospitality Adrenaline Lounge at SailGP Sassnitz. Constructed directly on the breakwater of the port of Sassnitz, the project delivered a high-end guest experience in one of the most exposed and technically demanding locations on the SailGP calendar.
The Gold Emporia Award is an international recognition for outstanding event and brand environments, judged by an independent jury of design and industry experts. A Gold award is reserved for projects that stand out not just in design, but in execution under real-world conditions.

Premium hospitality under extreme conditions
SailGP’s debut in Sassnitz brought top-level racing to the island of Rügen - and with it, the ambition to host guests as close to the action as possible. The Adrenaline Lounge was positioned directly on the harbour breakwater, exposed to high winds, strict load limits and without the option to anchor into the existing surface.
The structure had to be elevated for clear sightlines, bridge an existing wall across the breakwater and meet German certification requirements — all within a tight delivery window. At the same time, the experience needed to feel calm, comfortable and unmistakably premium.
The result was a two-level hospitality building offering 360° views over the racecourse and the city, combining sheltered indoor lounges with an outdoor terrace right above the water.
