Crane-Set Event Installation
Built Above the Challenge
Built Above the Challenge: Crane-Set Event Installation
Client: Houston Tents & Events
Project: Ameritex Pipe & Products Customer Appreciation Event
Location: Houston, Texas
Structure: 30m x 50m Losberger De Boer Structure
Application: Corporate / Industrial Event
When ground access disappears, great structure systems don’t stop — they adapt.
For Ameritex Pipe & Products’ Customer Appreciation Event, Houston Tents & Events delivered a full-scale installation in one of the most constrained environments imaginable: an active industrial yard.
The Concept
Ameritex set out to host a high-impact event that blended industrial scale with an elevated guest experience — bringing customers and partners directly into their operational environment.
The structure needed to:
- Fit within an active facility footprint
- Preserve staged product displays
- Deliver a polished, event-ready atmosphere
The Challenge
The site conditions were anything but standard
- No Clear Build Zone
Pipe inventory was already staged across the yard, eliminating traditional installation access. - Zero Disruption Requirement
The layout was critical to the event—nothing could be moved or compromised. - Tight Timeline
Installation had to align precisely with event readiness. - Safety & Precision at Scale
Working within an active industrial environment required exact coordination.
This wasn’t just a tight site—it was a blocked one.
The Solution
Houston Tents & Events implemented a crane-set installation strategy, assembling the structure from above rather than from the ground.
Each structural arch was:
- Lifted and positioned by crane
- Precisely aligned mid-air
- Installed without disturbing the existing layout
This approach allowed the team to:
- Preserve the entire site setup
- Maintain safety and control
- Deliver a full-scale structure in a restricted environment
A non-traditional method—executed with precision.
Key Build Features
- 30m x 50m Losberger structure providing large-scale coverage
- Crane-set installation for zero ground disruption
- Clear, open interior for event programming and guest flow
- Engineered system designed for precision assembly under constraints
Why It Worked
Losberger De Boer structures are engineered for flexibility in real-world conditions — not just ideal ones.
In this case, the system’s modular design allowed:
- Non-linear installation sequencing
- Integration with crane-assisted assembly
- High-tolerance alignment across large spans
The structure didn’t dictate the site — the system adapted to the environment instead of forcing changes to the site.
The Outcome
The completed structure became the centerpiece of a high-profile evening featuring
- National touring country music acts
- State dignitary appearances
- Large-scale guest engagement
Guests experienced a seamless blend of industrial authenticity and event sophistication— a setting that reflected both the scale of Ameritex’s operations and the importance of the occasion.

The Takeaway
The most valuable structures aren’t just designed for open fields—they’re built for real-world constraints.
Losberger De Boer proved that with the right system and the right partner, even the most complex sites can become exceptional event environments.
