Rapid delivery of temporary classrooms to maintain continuity in education

When a school building suddenly becomes unusable, the impact is immediate. Teaching stops, schedules are disrupted, and pressure builds across students, staff and school districts.

This project was delivered in the United Kingdom, where structural safety concerns required urgent action across multiple schools. In this context, a temporary solution was needed quickly — not only to provide space, but to restore a safe and stable learning environment.

Working in close coordination with public authorities, a rapid solution was implemented to ensure students could return to in-person learning as soon as possible.

Our role

Appointed by public authorities, Losberger De Boer delivered two fully equipped temporary school buildings on-site.

The solution included 22 classrooms, ICT spaces, staff rooms and essential facilities, all designed to support daily school operations.

A 20 x 55 metre Delta structure, combined with a 5 x 25 metre canopy, created sufficient space for teaching, circulation and sheltered access between buildings.

The facilities were installed on existing school grounds, allowing students and staff to return quickly while long-term plans were developed. The solution can be scaled, adapted or relocated depending on changing capacity needs.

The results

The temporary school buildings were completed on schedule, enabling students to return to in-person learning shortly after the initial closure.

The new environment restored structure to the school day, supported uninterrupted teaching, and provided stability during a period of uncertainty.

The facility quickly became a fully functioning part of the school community.

Impact for students and staff

Students were able to continue their education in a safe, compliant and comfortable environment, without extended disruption.

Teachers regained the ability to deliver lessons effectively, supported by fully equipped classrooms and dedicated spaces.

For the wider community, the solution ensured continuity and maintained confidence in the school’s ability to operate.

Supporting schools with fast, reliable classroom solutions

This project reflects a broader need across school districts: maintaining continuity when facilities are unavailable or under pressure.

Temporary modular facilities provide a practical and efficient way to respond — whether in emergency situations or planned expansion scenarios.

By delivering high-quality education spaces in a short timeframe, disruption is minimized and learning continues.

Client testimonial:

“The project provided a clear introduction to the Losberger product, with a quick response to the school’s needs and a collaborative approach to layout, design and delivery. It was completed to plan and on time, supported throughout by strong communication from the Project Manager and wider team”.
