Premium VIP Hospitality at 'The Green Monster' During the Porsche European Open
From June 5th to 7th, 2021, the Porsche European Open was held for the 6th time at the Green Eagle Golf Course outside Hamburg, where 2,000 golf fans witnessed top-tier sportsmanship on 'The Green Monster', one of Germany's most challenging courses.
The Porsche European Open as a Model Project
The excitement was palpable among tournament organizers, players, and golf enthusiasts when it was announced that the Porsche European Open would be the first professional golf tournament in Europe to welcome a live audience since October 2019. To make this possible, U.COM Event's team, led by Managing Director Dirk Glittenberg, worked tirelessly. "It was an intense couple of weeks, but utterly worth it," Glittenberg reflects. Rigorous testing, mask mandates, and social distancing were in full effect, even as the 86-hectare tournament site was adapted to comply with the latest Corona regulations. U.COM turned to Losberger De Boer for temporary event solutions to meet these needs.
Exclusive Garden Lounge Overlooking the 18th Hole
Our rental team erected a total of 4,000 m² of high-quality structures that blended seamlessly into the idyllic surroundings of the Green Eagle Golf Course. Highlights included a 70m long 'Walk of Fame', private areas for staff and volunteers, kitchen and catering tents, and multiple storage facilities.
At the core of the setup was a 1,200 m² VIP tent, serving as a garden lounge with an adjacent terrace and bistro. This luxurious space offered guests a prime view of the 18th hole—the final, most decisive, and challenging part of the course—ensuring an unparalleled VIP experience.
