Howdens Expo, Howden HQ
Seamless exhibition expansion
Every exhibition faces the same challenge: creating enough space to support growing visitor numbers, additional exhibitors and a seamless event experience.
At Howden HQ, Losberger De Boer delivered a temporary exhibition structure that expanded the existing showroom environment while maintaining the look, feel and flow of the venue itself.
The result was a scalable exhibition environment designed to increase capacity without disrupting the visitor experience.
The challenge
The existing showroom provided a strong foundation for the exhibition, but additional space was required to accommodate more suppliers and improve the overall event layout.
The expansion needed to:
- integrate naturally with the existing building
- support increased visitor and exhibitor capacity
- maintain clear flow throughout the environment
- be delivered within a tight installation schedule
The objective was not simply to add space, but to create a cohesive extension of the event environment.
The solution
A temporary A-frame structure was installed directly alongside the existing showroom, creating a connected exhibition space that functioned as a natural continuation of the venue.
The structure was designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding environment, allowing visitors to move easily between spaces while maintaining a consistent event experience.
This approach provided:
- additional exhibition capacity
- improved spatial flexibility
- uninterrupted visitor flow
- a scalable solution without permanent construction
The Result
The expanded environment allowed the exhibition to support a broader range of suppliers while improving the overall organisation of the event.
The additional space created:
- more supplier stands
- improved circulation throughout the venue
- more opportunities for interaction between exhibitors and visitors
By extending the venue with a temporary structure, the exhibition was able to scale efficiently while preserving the familiarity and functionality of the existing location.
The takeaway
Temporary structures offer a flexible way to expand exhibition environments without permanent modification to existing venues.
By integrating additional space directly into the event environment, organisers can increase capacity, improve visitor flow and adapt venues around changing event requirements.
