Futureproof sports hub created in Mios
Creating modern sports facilities for all
Mios Builds a Futureproof Sports Hub with Losberger De Boer
In response to a growing demand for modern, accessible sports infrastructure, the municipality of Mios initiated a large-scale project to upgrade and expand its existing facilities. Their goal: to deliver a safe, complete, and sustainable sports complex that meets the evolving needs of local clubs and citizens.
A smart and sustainable approach
As part of this modernization, Losberger De Boer was selected to design and deliver a mixed-use modular solution, covering both tennis and padel sports. The solution combines speed, sustainability, and long-term flexibility.
The new sports hub includes:
-
Two new covered tennis courts, housed under a Prosport building with a steel roof and textile membrane façades.
-
Two covered padel courts, expanding the city’s sports offering with one of Europe’s fastest-growing sports.
-
Renovation of two existing outdoor tennis courts, upgrading their usability and appeal.
-
Photovoltaic panels integrated into the roofing system, enabling self-consumption of solar energy by multiple municipal buildings in the area – extending sustainability benefits beyond the sports domain.
This project illustrates Mios’ commitment to making responsible use of public funds, through a thoughtful combination of multi-use infrastructure, renewable energy, and modular flexibility.
Delivered with confidence – and speed
Modular construction offered a significant time advantage. With Losberger De Boer’s turnkey approach, including design, engineering, and construction management, Mios could accelerate project delivery while maintaining control over specifications and budget – crucial for councils that operate under tight deadlines and public scrutiny.
