The RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, held annually in July, is the largest flower show in the world and a highlight of the horticultural calendar.

Since 2015, Losberger De Boer has been a proud partner in bringing one of the festival’s most iconic attractions to life: The Floral Marquee. This vast structure houses a breathtaking collection of plants and blooms, offering visitors an immersive experience that combines scale, beauty and precision engineering.

• It takes 18 months to plan each show, and 200 people to build and dismantle it
• It takes 3 weeks to build a show garden & 2 weeks to build a small garden - but just 5 days to dismantle them
• An average of 130,000 people attend the show every year, and most visitors spend around 5 hours there

Creating the Floral Marquee

The Floral Marquee must create a calm, well-ventilated space where thousands of delicate plants can thrive, no matter what the British summer throws at them. At a show of this size, the structure must be practical, with the right balance of space, airflow, and speed of construction.

We deliver a 225m long A-frame structure, holding the title of the longest structure we build on an annual basis anywhere in the world. Spanning 6,750 square metres, the Floral Marquee offers a vast, uninterrupted space.

Specialist features for horticultural use include: 

• Specialist mesh panels: To promote airflow throughout the space, helping manage humidity and temperature.

• Advanced ventilation system: Ensures consistent, natural air circulation to support plant health and provide a comfortable environment for visitors.

• Optimised light levels: The structure’s layout and materials allow for sufficient natural light without the risk of overheating or overexposure.

These technical specifications were developed in direct response to exhibitor needs, ensuring their displays remain in peak condition throughout the event.
