Hospitality at West End Live
In June 2025, West End LIVE returned to Trafalgar Square for a landmark 20th anniversary weekend, celebrating two decades of showcasing London’s finest musicals in the heart of the capital.
Presented by Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre, this free event drew thousands of fans to see hits like Wicked, The Book of Mormon, The Devil Wears Prada, Clueless, and more.
As part of the event's guest experience, we built their premium hospitality suite in Trafalgar Square.
The Challenge
Delivering a venue in Trafalgar Square presented several logistical challenges:
- Historic Sensitivity: Trafalgar Square is a culturally and historically protected site, home to national monuments, statues, and one of London’s most iconic landmarks, the National Gallery.
- Ground Protection: The square’s surface, including heritage stonework and subsurface infrastructure, require careful handling. No metal or concrete can have contact with the stone of the square so protection of the grounds was critical.
- Access and Congestion: Working in central London always demands careful scheduling and coordination. Restricted vehicle access, tight build windows, and foot traffic added layers of complexity. Any builds have to be planned with public safety and minimal disruption in mind.
The Solution
Working in partnership with Charcoal Blue for Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre, Losberger De Boer delivered a premium hospitality suite for VIP guests at West End LIVE 2025.
We installed a 10m x 15m Anova structure on a base directly in front of the National Gallery. The suite provided a premium, covered viewing platform with unobstructed sightlines to the stage, offering a comfortable and shaded viewing platform for guests.
Delivering this project without damaging the grounds was achieved in a few ways including:
- Protective matting under the base plates and packing
- Oil drip trays under all vehicles when parked on the terrace
- Tyre protection on all trucks to avoid any marks on the stones
Structure: Anova
Size: 150 m2
The venue was built in a day and dismantled in a day. This type of project is a great example of what we do best - delivering temporary venues in challenging and high-profile locations.
City centre builds: Our experience operating in locations like central London means we understand the permissions, logistical constraints, and sensitivities involved.
Heritage site integration: We routinely work in culturally significant locations, from royal palaces to historic landmarks, always upholding the highest standards of site care and visual integrity.
Partnership & collaboration: We work hand-in-hand with Charcoal Blue and the client stakeholders, ensuring a seamless build that meets both creative and operational goals.
Conclusion
Delivering event venues in central locations is a key strength of our UK team. Whether you’re planning a music event, exhibition or product launch, we have the experience and expertise to bring your vision to life.
